Parsons Dance seeks volunteers for upcoming programs during our 2023 Spring and Summer season. Available opportunities are listed below – we invite you to sign up for one or more programs and help us engage with various groups in our community!

The Battery Playscape
Performance Times: 2pm & 3pm
We are excited to repeat a smashing success from last year's educational programs: our partnership with Ballet Tech - NYC's Public School for Dance and The Battery Conservancy!
About This Event:
This event features almost 60 students from 4th and 5th grades across four pop-up performances at the beautiful Battery Playscape in lower Manhattan. Last year's visitors were thrilled to experience original costumes, props, and music as David Parsons's choreography filled the playground all weekend. Volunteers will guide and usher park visitors before, during, and after performance times.

Gala 2023

Our annual gala provides Parsons Dance with a chance to fundraise for our programs while sharing special sneak peeks of new choreography and honoring those who positively impact the arts community.
Time(s) Available & What You’ll Do:
Shift 2 | 3pm - 11pm:
Assist Parsons staff finalize event space set up and ensure space is ready for guests
Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner while checking them in
Provide a positive guest experience by helping guests find their tables and/or seats, moving them through the space, and bringing possible issues expressed by guests to the attention of Parsons staff
Assist Parsons staff during the event with the silent auction and collecting pledge cards during the paddle raise
Assist with general wayfinding and information, such as bathroom locations, accessibility, and the event program
Shift 1 | 10am - 4pm:
Assist Parsons staff to set up the event space with corresponding experience layouts, items, signage, etc., and back of house spaces for company dancers
Help identify any potential pain points for a guest experience throughout event set up
Run errands in the area for Parsons staff if needed
Unable to join us for a full shift? No worries! We welcome volunteers to join us for whatever time you have available, whether it’s a few hours or all day.
