2023 Lake Placid Residency
August 14
- September 1

Beginning on August 14, Parsons Dance will return to Lake Placid Center for the Arts (LCPA) for a three-week residency at this stunning venue located in the Adirondack Park of Northern New York.  We are delighted that the residency will give us the opportunity to develop a new work that the company has commissioned for the upcoming season.  Created by choreographer Penny Saunders, this intensely physical piece will be set to a score by Michael Wall, one of today’s most innovative musical voices.  Following a preview performance at LCPA on September 1, the work will make its world premiere during next spring’s Joyce season.

While in residency, our dancers will lead in-person and digital classes, along with workshops geared towards teaching the Parsons approach to contemporary dance. You can also watch a showing from home.  All workshops and open rehearsals are free and open to everybody, with all experience levels welcome.

This is your chance to spend some time in the studio with us! For more details, check out the full schedule below.
