On Wednesday, January 4th 2012, Parsons Dance began a new education and outreach initiative in partnership with the internationally renowned dance school, Broadway Dance Center(BDC.) Located in Midtown, BDC is an open-enrollment school for professional, pre-professional and aspiring dancers of all skill levels, from beginner to advance. Dance students from around the world enroll in its year-round programs. Parsons Dance classes at BDC are offered on a regular weekly basis. Open classes are priced at $18 per class per student, with discounts available for multiple purchases. The classes feature curricular instruction based on David Parsons’ dance vocabulary and movement technique. The curriculum was developed by Katie Langan, a former Parsons Dance Board member and Chair of the Dance Department at Marymount Manhattan College. Broadway Dance Center, Marymount Manhattan College and Manhattan Movement and Arts Center are the official education partners of Parsons Dance.
